I'm
Maria.

Psychologist, writer, who works with voice, who puts rage and beauty in the same room. Who finds that sound moves what words can't reach. Who trusts the body over the mind.

Creative expression is how I breathe. What we actually need isn't more insight, but aliveness. The recognition that understanding something is not the same as living it.

I write about what it costs to disappear in niceness, in politeness, in the slow making-yourself-easier-to-love. Psychology and literature, because the interior life deserves both precision and beauty.

TRAINING
& PRACTICE

M.Sc. Psychology, University of Groningen, with a focus on creativity and talent development.

Crisis intervention, psychosomatic group sessions, and psychosocial counselling across the Netherlands and Germany. Further training in systemic organisational development.

Even in clinical rooms, my work was always somatic: psychosomatic groups, relaxation, sound, creative writing.

Two years ago I started singing, and writing a weekly newsletter. Both changed everything.

For the ones who are paying attention.

A weekly newsletter of essays on the interior life.
